Novelty and Toylike Lighters

In 2008, Maine and Tennessee passed bans on novelty and toylike lighters.

Novelty and toylike lighters are responsible for fire-related injuries, deaths, and accidents across the Nation. Children mistake these lighters for toys, too often with deadly results. State and local governments are taking action by banning the sale of novelty and toylike lighters and limiting their distribution. More »
